This really is my second set of Altitudes.....the very first pair were a brown shade and were waterproof, comfortable and encouraging. I purchased these black ones like a change and also the finish is great. The brown ones continue to be going strong after couple of years put on however the soles are actually obtaining a little worn. I'm able to recommend this boot.....

Just did 20 miles over hillsides - not a problem whatsover. Boot is light and sturdy. Good grip and versatility from sole. Nice broad fit across base of toes. I usually have a size 11 walking boot (using walking socks) which was just right.

I personally use my boots throughout the year, for both serious hiking transporting backpacks and for weekend rambles. I've got a limited a financial budget. I want boots which are robust, relatively light, waterproof and comfy. So many people are dismissive of Hi-Tec, but getting attempted more costly brands after which moved onto Hi-Tec Altitude, I'm able to appear at first sight far better good value, they last as lengthy, they're very comfortable and they're great for wider ft.
