I never write reviews as I am inclined to keep my opinions to myself, however couldn't think that so known as fans of these an incredible band could give this album a 1 star rating. For those who have adopted Elbow using their beginning then you definitely can't miss out on the resemblance of tunes from Asleep within the back and Cast of 1000's. This album is greatly within the `early years' vein and without doubt assisted lead this guitar rock band along their road to the home hold title we all know today.

Should you can just learn Elbow because the band that did that appealing `One Day Like This' and authored the Olympic anthem, maybe you'll need to return to the start and uncover where everything started... and just what an outing you'll take. In summary Elbow are undoubtedly among the best bands Britain has ever created which assortment of tunes contributes to Elbow's already wealthy tapestry and cannot be skipped..... Plus the truth that an album of B-sides is much better than nearly all audio forced on the ears nowadays talks volumes!

Keep building individuals rockets boys!!!!!

most B side's album choices are usually low quality versions of the LPs that contains tracks that did not result in the cut and permanently reason!! you will find a couple of exceptions..pay attention to 'Pisces Iscariot" through the smashing pumpkins or 'lost sides' by doves' to title a few my favourites...elbows superbly named b-sides and rarities album 'Dead within the Boot" which should be a tale on the website debut album 'Asleep within the back" is further evidence this band do not take themselves too seriously that's until it involves writing music..

The album includes a very comforting feel into it and it is more a lot more low -fi in the production in comparison towards the bands other releases however this isn't any bad factor whatsoever.. you will find lazy groves throughout and delightful moments of space and dynamics in which the band appeared to become permitting the tunes to maneuver along at there own pace with periodic instrumental nudges not to mention Guy Garveys voice slides superbly around the background music adding emotional depth and colour together with his lyrics, this something he's become well know for and it is great to determine that very same quality of song writing here.

For me personally this album is a little of the understanding of the way the band create there seem and despite it being an accumulation of tunes obtained from releases within the 10 years they have been delivering records it dangles together perfectly being an album on its own and for me can stand happily stand alongside all there other brilliant LPs..

so purchase it, sit lower late during the night having a nice glass of vino and explore this beautiful music!!
